Welcome. Thank you for your curiosity.

Every day,  more and more Oregonians like you are realizing that we can do better to prevent and respond to sexual violence. Yet for too long, lawmakers have enacted policies that make our communities less safe. Our laws make victims and survivors afraid to report when they’ve been harmed. When they do report, too often they are not believed, and there is no accountability.

Rape, sexual violence, and other sexual crimes inflict deep harm, and our state should be doing everything possible to prevent these crimes from happening in the first place and respond to them in ways that help victims heal and keep perpetrators accountable so that they never hurt anyone again. But instead we spend millions of dollars each year tracking very low-risk people and keeping them from stable housing and employment, which we know keeps our communities safe. Oregon Voices is a community of people who are required to register as sex offenders along with their family, friends, and other supportive community members. We provide supportive resources for impacted people and advocate to modernize Oregon’s laws to better prevent and respond to sexual crimes.
